Amy Dudas, Esq.

Amy recently moved to New York to pursue new career challenges after maintaining a long and successful trusts and estates, nonprofit, family law, and probate practice in Indiana. She earned her J.D. cum laude from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and her B.A. with honors in English and French Literature from Earlham College. She now practices estate planning and trust administration, serving clients in New York and Indiana. Values that guide Amy’s practice and life include authenticity, shared humanity, community, and life-long learning.

Amy was honored to serve as President of the Indiana State Bar Association in 2022-23 and President of the Indiana Bar Foundation from 2018 to 2020. Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush appointed Amy to the Indiana Board of Law Examiners in 2018, which she served as Secretary from 2022 to 2026.

Community is about connection and common ground, and Amy’s passion for the arts has compelled her to maintain engagement as both a participant and an advocate. Michelle Obama has said that the arts “remind us of what we each have to offer, and what we all have in common.” Amy has volunteered as stage manager, lighting designer, pit orchestra player, music director, and director for a variety of community theater productions. In 2008, Amy helped found the Richmond (Indiana) Community Orchestra, in part to provide her and other avocational musicians an opportunity to play and perform together, an organization that continues to practice and perform to this day. She was on the board of the Richmond (Indiana) Symphony Orchestra from 2004 until 2026, having served as its President in 2009-11.

Amy was honored with the Distinguished Hoosier Award in 2023 by then Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, was named to the 2023 Indianapolis Business Media’s Indiana 250, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She serves on the New York City Bar Association’s Professional Discipline and Professional Responsibility Committees, the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct, and is a member of the American Bar Association.
